Rules
These are the rules. They may be subject to change if any kinks appear, yet ultimately all final rulings will be made by myself - Jé Maverick - without exception. Make sure that you read them all before messaging with any queries, as the answer is probably here already.
1) Poems must be ten lines in length or longer.
2) A poem can be written in any style or form that the contestant desires, keeping in mind the line length requirements (haiku and shorter forms are excluded, sorry!).
3) A poem may be written on any topic that the poet desires, excluding hardcore or pornographic erotica; poems with messages that convey hatred or vilification; poems that violate the rights of any person or entity; or any poem that is judged to be otherwise indecent
4) A poem must be the original work of the entrant. The entrant retains full copyright of their work, yet for the purposes of the competition, the entrant does grant permission for The Multiple Poegasm to publish all submitted works in their entirety. Entries do not have to be exclusively written for The Multiple Poegasm, and may be poems that have been published elsewhere on the web (or in print) in the past
5) Poems with spelling errors will not be considered in the group of each round that is put aside for artistic merit, but will not be eliminated from the popular vote.
1) Any contestant found guilty of plagiarism will be disqualified.
2) Any contestant found guilty of interfering with the progress of another, or attempting to cheat in the voting process, will be disqualified.
3) Any contestant found guilty of entering under multiple personas will have each persona disqualified.
There will be two eventual winners, one resulting from the public or popular vote, the other based on artistic merit, as decided by a panel of twenty judges. The public voting winner will result from the highest number of votes in favour of a piece. For the artistic merit section, judges will be paying close attention to syntax, spelling, punctuation, parallel structure and syllable count, as well as the use of poetic devices such as metaphor, enjambment, simile, imagery, and all round excellence in the use of figurative language. It will not be easy to win this section of the Poegasm, but do not let this be cause to abstain from entering. Instead, let it be a motivator, a reason for you to engage in writing the best poem that you possibly can.
The prize? $500 US, and bragging rights. You make it through to the end of this, you’ve earnt them.
1) Judges are not eligible to enter the competition.
2) Judges must not make known their status as a judge.
3) Any judges found to be colluding, conspiring, or accepting favours in return for their vote, will be blacklisted, shitcanned, vilified, and publicly flogged.
